Who We Are
Lomanco History – into our 70th Year!
In 1945 a builder shared a common problem with Clark Belden of installing fixed pitched louvers in homes. It was difficult to cut the right size opening to fit these fixed louvers. Clark solved the problem and Lomanco was officially born on May 4th, 1946, the date the patent for an adjustable louver was filed.
Today, the grandchildren of Clark David Belden continue the tradition that has been established through these many years. The first manufacturing plant was in the basement of a Minneapolis hotel. A range of rectangular louvers and adjustable louvers were soon added to expand our line of louvers. The manufacturing facilities were moved to 3601 Woodale Ave. in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Adjustable shelving and window shutters were major product lines in the early 1960’s and through the 1970’s. The product line was expanded to include roof louvers, power attic ventilators, foundation vents and turbines.
In 1966 the southern division was created in Jacksonville, Arkansas, with the purchase of Hamlin Products. This broadened our line of foundation ventilators and gave us a warehouse to serve our growing customer base in the South. The decision to relocate the entire facility to Jacksonville was made in 1972 and a major expansion was added.
The company’s manufacturing and storage capacity grew again with a major expansion in 1975 and the addition of a warehouse in 1978. New offices were completed in 1979. The Kingman, Arizona facility was built in 1980 and serves our customers west of the Rockies, western Canada and Australia. Continued growth led to another major expansion and reorganization of plant and warehouse facilities in the year 2000 and 2005.
Our high product quality and function ability, combined with our well-recognized integrity and solid partner base has established Lomanco as the premier manufacturer of residential ventilation products in the world. Our success has been built on pride, dedication and hard work of Lomanco’s owners, management, employees, sales representatives, vendors and customers.
